Our philosophy is to offer a stress free grooming experience for your pet. We pay special attention to older pets and pets with health issues. Your pet’s safety and comfort are our first priority. We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a level of stress that we think is excessive.  In some situations this can include nail trimming. Senior pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort.

PRICING:

Pricing varies according to each pet and is determined by breed, size and the condition of your pet. Prior to your appointment, we will confirm the treatment and the estimated price with you. Additional charges apply for other services provided which may include but not be limited to: de-matting, de-shedding, clipping, excessive coat and flea treatments due to the additional time and materials it takes to safely complete such services.

BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES:

If your pet has behavior problems, please let us know. We reserve the right to muzzle your dog or cat. If we arrive at your home and your dog or cat cannot be groomed, a $50.00 minimum groom fee will apply. The pet owner will be held liable for any bites that require medical treatment and for any property damage caused by their pet. All bites will be reported to the local authorities as required by law. We reserve the right to refuse service.

MEDICAL HISTORY / VACCINATIONS:

You, the pet owner, will advise us of any medical, physical, or emotional issues, allergies, sensitivities, and pre-existing conditions. These may include prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems.

While we adhere to a stringent sanitation procedure for our vehicle and equipment, we strongly advise that each pet be vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza adenovirus type 2, parvovirus, corona, leptospirosis, and bordetella prior to being groomed. We cannot take puppies until after they have had their second set of vaccinations.

APPOINTMENTS:

We will always arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible, however, sometimes situations occur that will disrupt the daily grooming schedule. This includes traffic, weather, and mechanical difficulties, spending more time with an older/younger or difficult pet. Rushing to meet a schedule will never compromise the pet’s safety. You will be called and advised of an arrival time when schedules change beyond our control.

CANCELLATION NOTICE / NO SHOW:

We require 48 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment We will contact you the day before your appointment, by phone, email or text message, to remind you of your appointment.  We will ask you to reconfirm your appointment. Failure to call 48 hours in advance to cancel may result in a minimum charge of $50.00 per pet that must be paid prior to your next grooming appointment.  Giving advance notice gives us the opportunity to fill your grooming slot and rearrange our schedule. If we show up for the appointment and there is no one at home to release the pet, a $50.00 per pet cancellation fee will apply.

HAIRCUTS:

"Pet clips" are the only type of clip that I provide; with comfort in mind, I strive to provide a clip that is best suited for each individual pet to suit their needs dependent upon their lifestyle. Providing the most suitable clip is not only essential while I am grooming your pet, but a clip that will provide the most comfort between grooming appointments as well. Of course it is important to me to keep in mind with what their owner is wanting, however the pet's best interests always comes first; providing COMFORT to your pet will always be my top priority.

"Show clips" are for dogs that were specifically bred, raised and trained to be Show Dogs. These clips take a long period of time, (requiring a lot of well-learned patience from the dog) to provide the essence of style. Show dogs are trained at a very early age to sit quietly on a grooming table for many hours at a time so they can achieve the intricate styling that is required.

MATTING:

If your pet has excessive knots/mats then I will only be able to provide the type of grooming care that is in the best interest of your dog or cat. Removing mats is uncomfortable and, if tight to the skin, can be quite painful to remove if not shaved off.  If your pet is severely matted I will only be able to provide the most humane clip - a complete shave down to start over. I will then show you the right equipment to use/how to use the equipment properly or get you on a more frequent grooming schedule so this does not happen again to your pet.

Excessive matting is not only painful for your pet to endure but it can also lead to other issues, such as foreign objects (sticks, thorns, spear grass etc.) working their way into their skin and the skin not being able to breathe, which can lead to over heating, sores & hot spots. Excessive matting is a serious issue and should be avoided for the improved health, well being and happiness of your pet. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats.  We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat.

ANAL GLANDS:

We do NOT express anal glands. Dogs naturally express their anal glands with each bowel movement. When humans start to force the expression of the glands it can cause damage to them and the dog can lose the ability to express them on their own. If your pet has issues with their anal glands then they should be seen by your veterinarian.
